Electric vehicle owners charged 45 percent more electricity to their vehicles at public charging stations in the second quarter compared to the same period last year, and 13 percent more compared to the previous quarter - the Hungarian Energy and Public Utilities Regulatory Office (MEKH) informed MTI based on the latest quarterly report .
In their announcement, they highlighted that the number of licensed charging equipment increased by 24.8 percent to 2,031 units in one year; 4,094 connectors are available on these charging devices for electric vehicle users.
The number of cars with green license plates increased by 67 percent to 53,000 compared to a year earlier - they recalled, referring to data from the Ministry of the Interior.
Compared to the same period of the previous year, the amount of energy consumed increased in all counties: it tripled in Tolna county, while it increased the least in Győr-Moson-Sopron county, Budapest, Fejér and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok counties, they wrote.
57.6 percent of public charging electricity is connected to Budapest and Pest county, Győr-Moson-Sopron and Csongrád-Csanád counties have a share of over 5 percent, while the other counties have a share of less than 5 percent. Household and other non-public charging options are not included in the report.
