Ford and Vodafone are jointly testing a technology for communicating cars that will alert motorists in a few moments when an accident occurs on the road ahead.
The system also indicates in time if a vehicle with a distinctive sign is approaching, or even shows that the car is to the side of the road to avoid being an obstacle.
The purpose of the system is to get firefighters, ambulances and police to the scene in the open “emergency corridor”.
The test of technology is carried out within the framework of a project of EUR 15 million, called Kooperative Mobilität im digitalen Testfeld Düsseldorf, which is responsible for the practical testing of the new technology of communicating cars and the technical solutions of self-propelled vehicles.
