It is not easy to develop a small car these days. While expectations can be defined relatively well for a larger model (be sporty, be comfortable, be practical), B-segment customers seem to want everything at once. A cute little car with a playful but unique personality that can be parked well and enjoyable at the same time, have style, but fit all sorts of shit in it, and preferably the kids in the back.
The rookie in the category, the Toyota Yaris, shows how complex the task is. We’ve already written about the safety of the model and the new hybrid powertrain , now let’s look at the comfort solutions, from the front seats pulled apart to the side through the noise reduction to the electronic pulley.
It is not uncommon for a four-meter small car to have a 10-inch (25-centimeter!) Color head-up display. And here it is, for safety reasons: don’t blink left or right, look at the road. The dashboard itself is softer, the instrument panel has moved lower, the steering wheel has become smaller - Toyota seems to have reinvented the Peugeot iCockpit solution.
