Not only the petrol, but also the economical diesel version came from the sports compact.
Ford has unveiled a completely new fourth generation Focus last spring, which has been included in the Autumn Car of the Year 2019 finalists.
Featuring a revolutionary generation of Volkswagen Golf GTI Challenge, this new engine bonnet features a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost turbo petrol engine that delivers much more serious performance than its predecessor. At a speed of 5500 rpm, it is now possible to start up to 280 hp and a 420 Nm torque peak from 3000. According to the manufacturer, with the new ST "less than 6 seconds" the 0-100 sprint can be detected.
The new Ford Focus ST diesel engine, which is 10 millimeters lower or 20 and back 12 percent heavier, has a 2-liter EcoBlue turbo engine. Focus has never had such a powerful diesel engine: the four-cylinder unit delivers 190 horsepower at 3500 rpm, and the 400 Nm peak torque is stable between 2000 and 3000. It is interesting that at least 1500 torque is available at 1500 revs.
