The smallest model of the Bavarian manufacturer arrived without a rear wheel drive and 6 cylinders.
In the spring of 2004, BMW unveiled its first model, the E87, which was followed in the fall of 2011 by the second-generation F20. This year's series is now eighth, so it's time for BMW to come out with the all-new third generation (F40), which is now officially introduced.
In fact, with only 0.5 centimeters shorter than its predecessor and 1 centimeter higher than its new one, the BMW 1 has only one component, its logo remains unchanged compared to the runway. The novelty is based on the company's first-wheel drive UKL platform, which is the one for other smaller BMWs and the Minik. Loss of the rear wheel drive and reduced driving experience will make the cabin and luggage compartments larger.
In the new 1-inch with 16-19-inch wheels, the rear seat provides a 19-meter headroom and a 33-millimeter larger foot space. The capacity of the boot has increased by 20 liters, so the rear part of the new model can hold 380 liters of pack.
By default, a 5.1-inch display is equipped with an analog dashboard that allows the driver to order a 10.25-inch digital dashboard at an additional cost. The center display has a 8.8-inch base and an optional 10.25-inch diagonal. Gesture control, a 9.2-inch HUD and an inductive mobile charger are all available for the new model.
The weakest engine is found in 116d, with a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder diesel engine with 116 hp and 270 Nm. In 118d and 120d there are already 2 liter 4-cylinder diesel units with 150 hp and 350 Nm and 190 hp and 400 Nm respectively.
