Elmob points out in its statement delivered to MTI on Wednesday: the function of the traffic permit, among other things, is to certify that the vehicle is in a technical condition suitable for participation in traffic, who owns and operates it, and what are its most important parameters. Important data for electric cars include, among other things, the battery type, chemistry, charging capacity, number and type of engines, but the current traffic license cannot handle these, the association points out.
Ágnes Németh, the president of Elmob, told MTI that the most important first step is to indicate the battery capacity of the given electric car in the license. He believed that this parameter was also the most understandable for the population.
Elmob notes: there are also versions of many types of cars equipped with different batteries and drive chains, the difference between which can be huge in terms of knowledge and, accordingly, in price. According to the association, before buying, it is worth taking the car to a specialist workshop where they can tell you the exact parameters based on the chassis number or an inspection.
The announcement reminds us that the first Hungarian driving license was issued 130 years ago. The document, which has been mandatory since 1910 and has been standardized since then, has been amended 6 times, and its current format has been used since January 1, 2005.
The Hungarian Electromobility Association was founded in October this year, and in addition to representing the interests of users of electric vehicles, it aims to promote e-mobility, cooperate with Hungarian and international organizations, and strengthen environmental awareness.
