In 2015, Hyundai began to develop the interface that has now been shown to the world press. In the first round, the rocker switches were discarded on the steering wheel and tactile surfaces were mounted in place. Subsequently, the handlebar was replaced by a touch panel for all push buttons and then replaced with a touch screen. In the next development phase, these touch screens gave haptic feedback (vibration), so we got to where we are now.
The instrument panel is now in place: a multi-layer display that consists of two displays that are 6 mm apart behind each other. This allows for 3D rendering, which is hopefully less distracting: the most important information in the current situation is displayed on a layer closer to the driver.
As for the controls on the steering wheel, their function varies depending on the menu item used or the driving situation. In addition, the steering wheel can be programmed with quick commands, 5-5 such shortcuts per page can be placed on a smartphone.
For the time being, the solution is quite bumford, and it will be refined on serial production.
