Experimental: Hyundai itself calls the Tucson appearance that way. The experiment, moreover, is risky because it will be sold all over the world, and so far we have known in neutral markets that a neutral, midway design is the safe solution.
The Tucson is neither neutral nor safe: the bodywork is shocked by sculptural surface changes - and where it should stand out (at the back, at the logo), it blends right into the surface, though it does so with a glass logo, which is again not average.
We have already seen in the preliminary that the triangles of the polygonal nose actually conceal daylight; wide, also hidden luminaires at the back replicate the design language - and as a novelty, the wiper was also hidden under the spoiler. A parabolic arc connects the endpoints of the body to the side.
Each of the nine body colors is available on request with a contrast-painted roof - there’s nothing revolutionary about this, but you can’t invent something new in every area.
In the passenger compartment (optional) a 2 x 10.25-inch display is tensioned in front of the driver, there is no dashboard blind, which makes the space more open. There are no switches either, we control everything from the touch screen, which is usually silly, but Hyundai seems to have learned from the mistakes of others and did not hide in the depths of menus the functions that require immediate access (volume, climate control).
By the way, climate: in addition to the traditional air blowers, the air also flows from hidden diffusers, the passengers themselves decide whether to choose the traditional, concentrated air jet or rather the gentle flow. Another possibility is the possibility of three-zone climate control. The front seats can be air conditioned and the rear can be heated.
The transmission is electronic, the mood lighting is available in 64 colors and its intensity can be adjusted in 10 levels. There’s online connectivity, cloud-based navigation, combined navigation (from the car park on your phone to your final destination), remote control features, and a user profile so you can instantly activate your favorite navigation, language, radio and your climate settings. Smartphone integration, a premium audio system with lots of speakers, lots and lots of USB charging jacks - it's all here.
