According to a California designer, there is much more to a Toyota city crossover than we see. The most popular hybrid car in Europe, the C-HR, is already a brutal sports car fantasy, and now a graphic artist has drifted to the other extreme when he dreamed up a marshmallow expedition car.
The idea is, of course, that the car would require major modifications. It would get a rigid front and rear, and its all-wheel drive system would need to be replaced with something more serious. Instead of a single roof rack, it would be practical to mount an outer roll-over frame welded to the frame, which would not only mount the fittings, but also stiffen the body and provide roll-over protection.
The most spectacular modification is the removal of the tailgate: this allows for two spare wheels (well, almost) in the cargo area, of course the same size as the wheels with beadlocking (ie fixing the rim to the rim and using extremely low tire pressure).
