Toyota and Lexus have sold more than 15 million hybrid cars worldwide today. Of this, 2.7 million were found in Europe and nearly 20,000 in Hungary.
By the end of 2019, Toyota, together with Lexus, has sold more than 40 million hybrids worldwide and more than 15 million hybrids worldwide by the end of 2019. Of this, Lexus accounted for 1.7 million units and Toyota sales for 13.3 million units.
In 2019, Toyota sold a record number of over 1.9 million hybrid cars worldwide, of which Lexus contributed 250,000 units. Hybrid sales in Europe are 61 percent for Toyota and 96 percent for Lexus.
Toyota aims to have at least 50 percent of its global sales of partially or fully electric cars by 2025. In Europe, the company goes even further: by 2025, it has determined the proportion of partially or fully electric cars at 90 percent.
