Toyota is launching a compact innovation for the Indian market; wants to replace his current chassis crossover.
India was ahead of Germany last year and is now the world's fourth largest national car market. According to analysts, Japan can be ahead of the next year, so car manufacturers like Toyota are becoming increasingly important. However, the world's second-largest car manufacturer has a modest presence in India, with a market share of only 4.5%, so it is developing its new features - such as the SUV that has just been aired.
The car would replace the Innova (in our pictures), which is built on the flat chassis of Hilux, but has a serious (front double crossbar, four-legged rear) chassis. On the other hand, the model expected for 2023 will be a self-supporting body, making it easier and safer.
The point is, of course, saving, so the new model gets a hybrid drive chain. This was reported by an Indian newspaper citing insider information; Toyota's local affiliate did not comment on the news.
The SUV also has a compact bus luminaire on Toyota's common foundations. Not by chance, since Innova simultaneously covers both market segments, at least according to the manufacturer, it seems to be the most belly-populated minivan.
