The MR2 sports car can return with an electric drive - the idea came up last fall. The idea seemed viable and, as it turned out, they were also thinking about Toyota, but unfortunately they did not come to the conclusion as fans.
Chief Engineer Tada Tecuja, who was in charge of both GT86 and GR Supra models, said that we had come to life as an English page: “It's really hard to build an urban sports car. Safety and emissions standards do not change, no matter what car we build, and a small car is made up of the same number of parts as a larger car. So we could only make such a vehicle with very little benefit. ”
So that's it? It seems yes, at least, if you stay with the GT86. It remains if we understand the words of Tada Tecuja: "GT86 plays a role in our range of models like a training aircraft: entering the sporty world of Toyota, and so we may need it in the future."
