If all the cars are on their own, the traffic will be much safer for everyone. Until this moment comes, the autonomous mobility is a convenience service that can take on the boring tasks of the man, such as plucking in the plug.
This does not mean, of course, that there is no big deal for Volvo Cars and Uber, a jointly developed, serial production car. The Volvo XC90's advanced sensor system and electrical network, combined with Uber's self-propelled technologies, can in the long run realize Uber's great dream: a fully automated freight sharing service with just one touch of a button and a car without a driver.
Roof-mounted laser sensors and cameras, and who knows how many sensors, of course, make the appearance of the car quite strange, and we wouldn't like to get into the underground garage. But the point is not for the moment, but that, even on airplanes, redundant security systems take care of trouble-free operation. If any primary master system fails, the secondary backup system immediately comes into effect - it is true that instead of taking the passengers to the finish line, it safely stops the car, but it is even better than running on the street.
