You get new connectivity and security technologies, but the Kia Picanto will still not be available as a hybrid.
After Rio, the Picanto also underwent a model upgrade. As there, in this case, the tiger row cooling mask has been modified, its frame partially hangs into the renewed headlights, the daytime lights reinterpret the usual ice cube format.
Inside, new, more pleasant-to-touch materials await, with a 4.2-inch digital display in front of the driver occupying the center of the instrument cluster. More important than these, however, is the new 8-inch touch screen. The infotainment system, which replaces the previous 7-inch unit, will be capable of smartphone integration (Apple CarPlay / Android Auto), and a number of on-board functions will also be controllable remotely from a smartphone application.
Although there is no hybrid, the engines have been revamped: the 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo engine is only available here in a 100-horsepower version, the other option is the 1.0-liter but uncharged motorcycle with 67 horsepower. Kia's new five-speed robotic manual transmission makes its debut in Picanto.
Safety is provided by up to seven airbags, emergency braking, cruise control and anti-rollback systems, as well as lane tracking, vigilance monitoring and blind spot monitoring systems.
