Volvo has repatriated over 500,000 cars around the world due to a faulty engine component that could cause a fire.
The four-cylinder diesel engines manufactured between 2014 and 2019 are subject to recall for models such as the S60, S80, S90, V40, V60, V70, V90, XC60 and XC90.
In a rare case, a plastic pipe in the engine may melt due to temperature changes. In some cases this caused a fire, but the company is not aware of any injury.
Volvo was acquired by Geely in China in 2010, one of the top ten Chinese car manufacturers.
