There is still a spring and a summer closing on the Danube bridge in Hárosi. Work will begin next week.
As a precaution, the renovated Ferenc Deák Bridge had to be closed again soon after the handover last spring. After detailed inspections and temporary repairs, the bridge was opened to start school, but in order to remedy the anomalies that surfaced during the renovation, dating back 30 years, closures will be needed again in order to ensure the long-term reliable use of the bridge, Hungarian Builders wrote.
Detailed plans are currently being drawn up for the selection of new bridge decks and the reinforcement of certain structural elements required for this. In the first phase, between March 22, 2021 and June 14, 2021, the extreme traffic lane will be closed on the bridge of the Ferenc Deák road leading to the M5 motorway and the finishing works of the noise barrier will be completed.
Between 15 June 2021 and 1 September 2021, the bridge on the north side of the Ferenc Deák Bridge, ie on the side leading to the M1 motorway, will be completely closed for the duration of the interventions. During this period, commuters in the area can walk on a 2 × 2 lane on the south bridge of the Ferenc Deák Bridge, ie on the side leading to the M5 motorway.
The maintenance of cycling and pedestrian traffic will be ensured throughout the period of traffic diversions.
From September 2021, traffic on both bridges will be able to travel in both directions, in full, on four traffic lanes. Until December, they will work again several times over the weekend, but these works will not significantly affect road traffic.
