BMW Motorrad engineers have solved a centuries-old problem: they have developed a motorcycle chain that requires neither lubrication nor tension.

a couple of diamonds covered the friction parts of the motorcycle chain with BMW Motorrad, thus claiming to create a surface that is much less abrasive and friction. The chains, named M Endurance, therefore require neither lubrication nor tensioning, which reduces the maintenance requirements of motorcycles by orders of magnitude.

For the time being, BMW is offering the miracle chain as an option for two models: the S1000RR sports engine and the S1000XR touring machine, but it will later be available for other models - at least for BMW. There is no news yet on whether the technology will be available in the free market.

A chain covered with diamonds will not be cheap; it is said that they will be offered for 286 euros (about 100 thousand HUF) alone, and for the whole set for 426 euros (about 150 thousand HUF).
