Quite a few electric cars are already running around in our country, but not as many as thought. The main reason is the price.
Electric cars are an expensive pastime for average Hungarian families. Affordability is one of the considerations when buying a car in this region. This was also noticed by the Association of European Automobile Manufacturers. Not only in Hungary, but in general in half of the European Union member states, new cars with electric drive chains (ie ECV) put on the market account for only 9% or even less.
It can be read from the statements that the potential inherent in the European electric car market is not maximized because consumers are not encouraged to buy, the favorable conditions that would make it attractive to acquire such a vehicle do not exist.
We know that this could reduce environmental pollution and improve air quality, but the unaffordability overrides all of this.
The infrastructure and the number of charging stations also make it difficult for the electric car market to pick up in our country.
