After four years of pause, the gears at the German sports car manufacturer are re-launched.
Martin Wiesmann and Friedhelm Wiesmann founded their own company in 1988 as a family company. From 1993 onwards, on average, 180 cars were produced in Dülmen, Germany. The loss of the brand was caused by North American distribution plans in the bucket, the company reported a bankruptcy in 2013 and a year later it was cut off.
Now, according to the news, under the leadership of a new owner, the gecko-brand brand returns to the living, and in 2019 a new model is presented. There are no specifics, except for the most important thing: Wiesmann has signed a supplier contract with BMW last year, so in the future, Bavarian engines will drive brand models - first, the M5 600-horsepower V8 turbocharger can get into the long engine room.
