Although Formula 1 has plunged to death since the last-minute Australian Grand Prix - perhaps starting in July - there has been plenty behind the scenes, with F1 leadership, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and teams regularly negotiating since March, discussed, debated the current situation and longer-term future of the sport, changes in the rules, the expenditure ceiling.

“I started in the sport at Williams in 2009, but I’ve never seen such opportunism, positioning and manipulation as I have recently. There are sides to F1 that are quite disappointing, and sometimes the sport itself becomes a side issue, ”the Austrian told ESPN.
