The situation caused by the coronavirus epidemic falls short of the international cross-country race called Riverside Baja, which would have been held in Hungary for the sixth time.
Last year, 66 competitors from five countries started the Central European Zone Championship (CEZ) and the Open Hungarian Championship, breaking the record, and the event would have affected seven municipalities this year. “This time we would have moved the competition center to the now 1001-year-old Kemenesmagasi, in addition to which Pápoc, Vönöck, Kenyeri, Kemenesszentpéter, Csönge and Ostffyasszonyfa would have hosted the competition. The tracks were designated, the permits were fine, but the coronavirus intervened, ”said Riverside Baja director.
There was a lot of thought about postponing the race to a later date, but reviewing the race calendar, it became clear that “there is no more room for an event of this level”.
For those who may not know what Riverside Baja is all about, here are some tastes from previous years to see what’s left out this year. There is no doubt that off-roading is one of the most spectacular motorsports in the world.
