Thanks to the introduction of the Bubi season ticket, which can be purchased for a monthly fee of one hundred forints, more than 37,000 people have traveled with public bikes in Budapest since March 16, about 60 percent of whom are new users of the system.
Since March 16, BKK has been using the Mol Bubi public bike system for a monthly fee of one hundred forints, and at the same time it has introduced online registration and contracting, which allows for the absence of personal administration. Since then, the system has nearly 4,500 new customers.
Since March 16, one of the 2,071 bikes has been picked up more than 37,000 times at 157 collection stations in the capital. Looking at the same period in recent years, the number of trips is also about 20 percent higher than last year and the year before.
Users continue to use public bikes primarily for shorter trips. During the 37,000 trips registered since March 16, more than 23,000 times a new user bounced on a bike.
