Huge and interesting shapes, all wrapped in a small body, and even the saying “small is pepper but strong” is true for it. McMurtry Speirling has been introduced!
The Goodwood Speed Festival will be held this weekend: the program will feature dozens of classic pieces from the past or even the most successful techniques in Formula One history. And some manufacturers have once again taken the opportunity to come up with something new.
The British McMurtry also unveiled a one-seater, rather eccentric prototype: the Speirling weighs less than two tonnes and reaches 300 km / h in less than 9 seconds. The main ingredient in his secret recipe is the clamping force, but the key to this is not the unusually large wing elements compared to the size of the car.
In the main role, there is a huge fan instead of the huge wings, which actually sniffs the car to the asphalt. With lower air resistance, the range also increases, according to the manufacturer's calculations, it can perform 30-60 minutes at a competitive pace. There is also some nonsense around the 60 kWh battery, as it is placed around the cockpit.
The McMurtry Speirling is 3.1 meters long, more than 60 centimeters shorter than the Lotus Elise, which is about to say goodbye after a quarter of a century. Its performance is said to rival that of a GT3 car, although this has not yet been really substantiated with specific data.
