In some European countries, car production has gradually resumed or is resuming in recent days, in full compliance with epidemiological regulations.
Hyundai said on Tuesday that it had started production again at its car plant in the Czech Republic. After a forced break of almost three weeks, the factory in Northeast Bohemia is currently making cars in only two shifts instead of the usual three.
Hyundai has been present in the Czech Republic since 2006, and its plant there produced about 300,000 vehicles last year.
Also on Tuesday, Toyota announced in a statement that it would resume production at its plants in France and Poland, which were closed due to the coronavirus, on April 22nd.
The company also indicated that the majority of its plants in Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia do not currently produce.
Volkswagen's Skoda on Tuesday again postponed the resumption of production in the Czech Republic. The company originally expected production to resume on April 6th. However, it postponed this date first to April 14 and then to 20, and on Tuesday said production was not expected to start until April 27.
