While more and more people are turning to diesel, the Bavarians have produced an incredibly powerful but barely consuming diesel engine combo, with the driver and the complete family grinning constantly. We've tried the BMW M550d Touring, which may have some trouble with it.
When buying a car, the mind and heart are constantly fighting each other. Moving close to the subject, a man would choose a vehicle that is spacious, comfortable and consumes little. However, if we listen to our hearts, we tend to examine the engine specifications of the models we have chosen, and get involved in the many horsepower, the world of mountain torque and sports.
BMW is now trying to serve our mind and heart at the same time. In the test, he behaves as a quiet spinner on gray weekdays, and M550d Touring competing with M5s on weekend serpentine.
In medias res
With a nice six-cylinder organ, the diesel engine is already warm, the car is pulled into D, our hands on the steering wheel and the gas pedal. Next, 4.6 seconds will elapse until the speedometer's projection reaches 100.
Meanwhile, the car's imaginary pulse rate does not increase, the technique simply does its job in a bored manner, but the driver is getting bored after the air. And it makes it better to take your foot off the accelerator pedal, because after a few seconds, the truck will only be driven by the 200-speed tolerable on the autobahn.
