It has a top speed of 356 km / h and can cover more than 1,600 kilometers on a charge from the American hydrogen-powered super sports car Hyperion.
Hyperion is a California company and it is no coincidence that we have not heard of them so far, as the XP-1 is their first car. And that has become a pretty strong entry, as they are immediately bringing something completely new to the supercars. Boldness is not only meant for form, but also for drive. The titanium-reinforced composite body Hyperion XP-1 looks like it has rolled out of a sci-fi.
Of interest are the kevlar composite diffuser, LED lighting and active aerodynamic elements, the most spectacular of which are the side blades, which they claim allow for high cornering speeds. Not only that, there are solar panels on the Hyperion side that can be used to track the orbit of the day. There are 457mm carbon-ceramic brake discs at the front and 432mm at the rear behind the 20- and 21-inch rims. The interior features a curved 98-inch display and gesture control.
The special feature of Hyperion is that it is hydrogen powered. In addition, it stores hydrogen in a carbon fiber tank and generates energy from it for electric motors. The 1032 kg Hyperion reaches a speed of 60 mph (96 km / h) in 2.2 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 356 km / h. Its range is really surprising, it goes up to 1635 km on a single charge. It can be refueled with hydrogen in 5 minutes. I want to produce XP-1 in 300 copies from 2022 onwards.
